A good vintage from the Fête de la science at IJCLab!

IJCLab participated in the Fête de la Science on the campus of the Faculty of Sciences of Orsay as part of the reception of schoolchildren, on Friday October 7 and for all public, the afternoon of Sunday October 9. Workshops and visits to platforms were provided by volunteer staff: technicians, engineers, doctoral students and researchers from the laboratory, i.e. around fifteen people.

In total, 143 students took advantage of the activities offered throughout the day on Friday. Visitors, from CP to 3rd graders, registered on the site of the COMPAS service of the Faculty of Sciences, were able to participate in various activities: the programming of a robot, experiments around vacuum, cryogenics, levitation, superconductivity, electrostatics, the thermal camera and/or visit the Andromède Platform.

Sunday, October 9 for the afternoon All Publics, visitors were there again well at the rendezvous. Nearly 300 visitors of all ages came to enjoy the various activities offered at three laboratory sites at their own pace. On the side of the JANNuS-SCALP platform, the facilitators presented the transmission electron microscope (MET) and offered an electrostatic workshop. In Building 200, Friday's activities were complemented by a live explanation of the neutrino mysteries in front of two posters prepared for the occasion. A presentation of another type of microscope, a scanning electron microscope (MEB) completed the proposed activities. Visitors also had plenty of time to visit the Andromède platform.
