The Laboratory of the physics of the 2 Infinities Irène Joliot-Curie (IJC Lab) was created on January 1st 2020 from 5 laboratories :
- CSNSM (Centre de Sciences Nucléaires et de Sciences de la Matière)
- LAL (Laboratoire de l’Accélérateur Linéaire)
- IMNC (Laboratoire d’Imagerie et Modélisation en Neurobiologie et Cancérologie)
- IPN Orsay (Institut de Physique Nucléaire d’Orsay)
- LPT (Laboratoire de Physique Théorique)
You will find more information on the history of the 5 laboratories in this document.
IJCLab
- “La recherche sort de sa bulle”: two comic strips on the work of doctoral students Léonard Imbert resulting from a collaboration between the University of Paris-Saclay and the illustrator Marine Spaak.
- Poster Gallery can be found here. These posters were designed by the laboratories that founded IJCLab, prior to the creation of the laboratory.
- Voyages de l’infiniment grand à l’infiniment petit : a free MOOC to understand everything about the physics of the infinitely large and the infinitely small.
- Passeport pour les deux infinis : to learn all about the book and the associated educational project.
- Quark poker : card games to find all the constituents of matter.
- The Elementaire review, to discover the infinitely small and the infinitely large in 9 issues.
- D’ici au Big Bang, from Barbara Sciascia (illustration : Agostino Lacurci, French translation : Nicolas Arnaud, Marie-Hélène Schune and Monica Varvella).
- Sciences-ACO : the museum of science and matter where you can see the ACO machine, located on the Orsay campus.
- The COSMIX suitcase : an educational and portable detector of cosmic rays for physics teachers and their pupils.
- L’Ecole des 2 Infinis a training programme for science teachers in high schools and preparatory classes
Institutions
- The pages of CERN, the Europen research center in high-energy physics, near Geneva
- Synchrotron SOLEIL : a large research equipment located on the Paris-Saclay campus, open to all.
