A CNRS 80 Prime 2020 grant awarded to IJCLab

The MITI (Mission for Transversal and Interdisciplinary Initiatives) of the CNRS has selected projects intended to support and strengthen the interdisciplinarity between the CNRS institutes within the framework of its 80 Prime call for projects.

The SNAC-QC project “Simulating Atomic Nuclei and their Constituents with Quantum Computers” led by Denis Lacroix, researcher at the Nuclear Pole (Phynet Team) at IJCLab, was selected this year. This project will explore the contribution of quantum computers to the work of simulating atomic nuclei and their constituents, a revolution in the techniques used up to now in nuclear physics research based on conventional computers.
