Looking for the echo of the Big Bang with the Simons Observatory

Paris, June 20, 2024. The first telescopes of the Simons Observatory, in Chile, have started taking data and thus mark the scientific start of this project which is to be spread over 10 years and which aims to carry out the most precise measurement never performed cosmic microwave background radiation. Objective, to try to detect in these first glimmers of the cosmos, the tiny traces of gravitational waves which would have been generated by an inflation phase of the primordial Universe. A project in which two IN2P3 laboratories, APC and IJCLab, participate.
