Covid-19 crisis: IJCLab provides valuable help with 3D printing supplies

IJCLab has contributed to the efforts of the 3D4Care consortium to cope with the demand for headbands that equip the face shield distributed to specialized structures in Paris and around.

In less than a month, more than 200 items were supplied by IJCLab thanks to the remarkable commitment of the Engineering Pole people who took turns daily to ensure this production. Indeed, the 3D printing process by plastic injection (production and development of injection matrices) takes time.
Then the pieces produced were delivered at the Paris Diderot University (UDP) where the production and decontamination chain of the equipment is based. IJCLab therefore joined forces with 112 contributors who produced more than 7,000 visors overall. This is a significant organizational and logistical work ; however  some 20% of the needs have been covered (more than 33,000 requests came directly to them).
