Visit of the delegation from The Laboratory of the Physics of the two Infinities Irène Joliot-Curie - IJCLab (Paris-Orsay)

On April 4-5, a 14-person delegation from the Laboratory of the Physics of the two Infinities Irène Joliot-Curie (IJCLab), located in Orsay near Paris, visited IFJPAN at Cracovie, Polland.

The delegation included the Director General of IJCLab, Prof. Achille Stocchi, his deputy Prof. Fadi Ibrahim, heads and employees of IJCLab scientific departments: Nuclear Physics Department, High Energy Physics Department, Astroparticle, Astrophysics and Cosmology Department, Accelerator Physics Department, Theory Department, Health Physics Department and people from the IJCLab Transfer, Innovation and International Relations Service, with the coordinator of this Service , Dr. Ketel Turzo. Also present was one of the heads of the Doctoral School of the Paris-Saclay University, Prof. David Verney.

On the first day of the visit, a meeting of the IJCLab delegation with representatives of the IFJ PAN took place - it had a form of workshop, the program of which is attached below. On behalf of the IFJ PAN, the meeting was attended by: the Directorate of the IFJ PAN, heads of research departments, CCB and DAI, the management of the KISD Doctoral School and researchers who already cooperate with colleagues from IJCLab and those who have identified areas of research where such cooperation can be developed. The workshop began with general presentations of the IFJ PAN and IJCLab by the Directors, Professor Stocchi and Professor Lesiak, followed by parallel meetings in six thematic working groups. The afternoon part of the event was devoted to the presentations of the results of the working groups, where plans for cooperation in each of the discussed research topics were presented. The workshop ended with an extensive discussion on the strategy of joint application for research funding and the next practical steps to be taken in order to sign a framework cooperation agreement between IFJ PAN - IJCLab. On the same day, in the evening, the guests visited the Bronowice Cyclotron Center.

On the next day, April 5, in the morning, the second part of the visit to the Institute took place. The guests saw the AIC-144 isochronous cyclotron, the cryogenic laboratory and the Spectroscopic Imaging Laboratory. A commemorative photo was taken at the end of the visit.
